Pearl Mussel project

We had intended to carry out school visits to schools in the catchment areas before the summer holidays, however given the current COVID-19 situation we will be unable to do so. Instead, we have created an interactive online story map, which provides information about Freshwater Pearl Mussels, their biology, ecology, and current status. We have also prepared activity sheets which can be completed after going through the story map. We hope that this resource will be of interest to your teachers and students, we feel that it is best suited to 2nd or 3rd class upwards.

The story map can be accessed directly through the following link https://bit.ly/pmpeducationpack1 or through our website https://www.pearlmusselproject.ie/resources/schools–education-resouces.html

We are also running a colouring competition, with the theme ‘biodiversity’. The closing date in May 15th (details in the activity sheet pack).
